If you've never seen Smoky Quartz cut in the new Quantum, or Concave Cut -- well, you just haven't ever seen Smoky Quartz at it's best. I'm am totally awed by the transformation of what is a sort of mild stone into something absolutely incredible. Sparkle and Fire like I never knew that Smoky could produce.
Measuring 12x10 mm, it weighs a whopping 6 carats. The mounting is a very pretty filigree basket, with filigreed upper shanks as well. It's a good, solid mounting; 3.2 grams, and very sturdy.
I've been wondering for a while now what the "next big stone" is going to be, and I'm thinking this might be it. Earth tone browns are hot this year. My wife goes crazy over this stone. It's not just brown-- this is champagne mixed with cognac and attitude!
