Amethyst is such a vibrant stone. The royal color, the way it throws sparkle and fire -- it's just an awesome stone. This one has been cut with the checkerboard cut (my favorite cut for ovals), and it goes crazy with sparkle.
It has been set into a simple 14k gold basket mounting. An Oval Basket setting lets the Amethyst do it's thing!
The stone weighs a healthy 6 carats, and the mounting is nice and heavy -- what you'd expect to hold such a good stone. Just look at the pictures at how thick the metal is.
