Quantum cut (also called concave cut) is fairly new and brings out the most awesome color in the stone. It allows the light to get in more than ever before and bounce around resulting in tons of sparkle.

These stones are set into a traditional basket setting, hanging from a leverback earring. 

Please notice the thickness of the gold in the mounting.  These are substantial, without being weighty.  I like my stones well protected, and I assume you do too!
