| OK, so just what IS Paraiba Topaz? Well, it is a natural Topaz, mined in Brazil, and has been treated to emulate a special Tourmaline mined in the state of Paraiba, Brazil. That unique Tourmaline is very rare, and very expensive -- currently costing around $4-5,000/carat for stones of this size.
Which brings us to THIS stone, the Paraiba Topaz, aptly named because it's color so closely matched the original Tourmaline. A Blue/Green Teal sort of color, somewhat like an Apatite -- this stone is well cut, and throws really cool Paraiba color.
With a nice scrolling pattern in the shank, this ring knows how to show off a stone. A whopping 6 carats, this is a deep stone, bright and clear, with tons of sparkly iridescence. |
