Wow!  When you just gotta have red, and don't feel like coughing up the $5,000 for the real thing, these lab created rubies are just the thing.  Intense, bright red -- heck, I can't get the camera to catch the color -- they glow under the camera flash.  But I can tell you this, they are red, red, red -- and well cut, throwing gobs of red fire.

Measuring 12x10 mm, it weighs a whopping 6 carats.  The mounting is a very pretty filigree basket, with filigreed upper shanks as well.  It's a good, solid mounting; 3.2 grams, and very sturdy.
