I'm really picky about my Amethyst -- generally, dark, but not TOO dark a purple (you just have to have light be able to get into that stone and bounce back out!) and often with red or blue highlights, dependingon the stone and the direction of the light. African Amethyst is generally acknowledged as having the best color you can get for Amethysts.

This well built ring holds a very pretty stone. It weighs about 4.5 carats, and measures 11x9mm. It's large enough to throw lots of color, but not large enough to be uncomfortable or flashy.

A good, solid, everyday ring -- and would look just as nice out on the town!
