This stone is a huge 6 carat Amethyst.   A totally gorgeous stone, checkerboard cut, with lots of Flash.

This setting is a large, heavy mounting with a strong structure.  There's a lot of gold here; this ring's got twice the gold of the average ring!  It does a superb job of showing off the stone, and yet keeps a fairly low profile so it won't get hung in your pockets.

It's a good, solid, everyday ring.
