The stone is a London Blue Topaz, well cut, throwing outrageous fire.  At 6 carats, this is a deep stone, bright and clear.

This setting is a large, heavy mounting with a strong structure.  There's a lot of gold here; this ring's got twice the gold of the average ring!  It does a superb job of showing off the stone, and yet keeps a fairly low profile so it won't get hung in your pockets. It's a good, solid, everyday ring.
