I'm really picky about my Amethysts -- generally, dark, but not TOO dark a purple (you just have to have light be able to get into the stone and bounce back out!) and often with red or blue highlights, depending on the stone and the direction of the light. 

You've probably read in a couple other of my ads, that the bigger the stone, the better the color.  Well, here, we're really getting down to it.  Color, color, and more color. 

The stone weighs over 22 carats, and is set in a lovely domed filligree mounting, with the strong structure you would expect to hold such a nice stone.  This is the kind of heavy metal your Mom would approve of.
