OK, so just what IS Paraiba Topaz? 

Well, it is a natural Topaz, mined in Brazil, that has been treated to emulate a special Tourmaline mined in the state of Paraiba, Brazil.  That unique Tourmaline is very rare, and very expensive -- currently costing around $5,000/carat for stones of this size. (Hmmm, this is a 30 carat bracelet, which would put it at around $150,000.  I don't have that kind of money laying around, and chances are pretty good you don't either.) 

Which brings us to THIS stone, the Paraiba Topaz, aptly named because it's color so closely matched the original Tourmaline.  A Blue/Green Teal sort of color, somewhat like an Apatite -- the stones are well cut, and throw really cool Paraiba color.

There are 20 8x6mm stones, each hand picked for cut, color and clarity, weighing about 30 carats.
